Chamber of Commerce announce June dates

Workshops and breakfast seminars

The Isle of the Man Chamber of Commerce has three workshops and a breakfast seminar coming up in June.

They're all open to members (at a reduced rate) and non-members.

On the 15th June there will be an event presented by Simply Secure looking at how businesses can prevent a data breach. It is aimed at small to medium business owners and will begin with an explanation of data security threats, the forms which these threats can take, and the associated risks. The event is at Chamber’s offices at Athol House, Athol Street, Douglas, from 2pm to 3pm.

On June 19th there is an introduction to health and well being in the workplace workshop. Presented by Thrive HR & Development Services, the aim is to provide small to medium size businesses with hints, tips and tools to introduce and effectively support health and wellbeing in the workplace. The event is at Chamber’s offices at Athol House, Athol Street, Douglas, from 2pm to 4pm.

On June 26th there is a ‘Getting your employees to agree to mediation’ workshop presented by Beverley Williams from Mediate. The aim of the workshop is to equip participants with tools to tackle what can be a difficult aspect of a mediation process – getting people to agree to participate. The event will be at Chamber’s new offices, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas.

And on June 28th there is a breakfast seminar which is sponsored by Smart HR, and in association with Junior Achievement Isle of Man, the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, Ramsey Grammar School, and the Education and Employers Charity (UK). The ‘Drawing the Future’ event takes its title from the survey carried out by the Education and Employers Charity (UK), and the charity’s Chief Executive Nick Chambers will be the guest speaker at the seminar.
