Youngsters receive unique stamp sheet
Isle of Man Post Office has helped around 1,000 school children celebrate Commonwealth Day.
Two students from Ballakermeen High School joined pupils from 150 schools and youth organisations at a special service at Westminster Abbey on Monday (14 March), based on the theme 'An Inclusive Commonwealth'.
Each group will receive a goody bag as a memento of the occasion, which includes a stamp sheet commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Queen as Head of the Commonwealth.
The project has been coordinated by Isle of Man Post Office with input from 26 other Commonwealth postal administrations, as part of an initiative through the Royal Commonwealth Society. The issue is said to be the first product of its kind in the world.
Each of the stamps featured on the sheet are valid for postage in the country of issue - and sheets are valued at £20 each.
