70% prefer quality of locally-produced meat
A consumer survey has shown 70% of those who buy Manx meat believe it's better than meat from the UK.
Over 700 people responded to Isle of Man Meats' survey, which asked a range of questions about quality, welfare, price and traceability.
The responses showed consumers want meat to be clearly labelled to show whether it was reared or produced on the Island, and that quality is the most important factor when deciding to buy local produce.
Isle of Man Meats now plans to use the feedback to raise awareness of locally produced meat.
