Data protection supervisor to address ICSA

Isle of Man data protection supervisor Iain McDonald will address the Institute of Chartered Secretaries Isle of Man on Monday, March 7, as part of their regular series of events.

At the event, sponsored by Appleby Isle of Man, Mr McDonald will explore the challenges and threats that technology in particular poses to privacy and how these are starting to be addressed.

Iain McDonald has been the Island’s Data Protection Supervisor since 2003 and oversaw the introduction of the current Data Protection Act and the Unsolicited Communications Regulations.

Gillian Prestwich, ICSA IOM Council Chairman said, "We are delighted to have Appleby’s backing for this event.

"Keeping Chartered Secretaries and colleagues in the Isle of Man fully up-to-date on important issues is a vital part of our role and commercial support is greatly appreciated."

The presentation will start at 6pm for 6.15pm at the Shearwater Suite, Palace Hotel and Casino, Douglas.
