Scheme fosters smart thinking on disability

There's help on hand for Manx businesses with concerns about compliance with the Disabilities Discrimination Act.

 

Advice is on offer from the Equal Access Award Scheme for anyone in need of it.  The initiative run by Crossroads Care aims to foster 'disability smart thinking' by supporting businesses to self-assess and then assisting them to establish equality of access.

 

The Act came into force on Friday 15 December, when it became unlawful for providers to discriminate in the delivery of goods, facilities and services.

 

Owners are asked to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ before the final phase is rolled out in January 2020.
