Dedicated volunteer earns £1,000 for JA

Junior Achievement in the Isle of Man has been presented with a £1,000 cheque by one of its business sector volunteers.

Barclay's employee Bal Jandu was awarded the bank's 2012 Citizenship Award for her work with JA, and a cash prize for the charity of her choice.

Mrs Jandu plays a key role in Junior Achievement, helping foster an entrepreneurial spirit in young people and prepare them for the world of work.

She's organised a series of workplace open days, offering secondary school pupils an insight into real-life work situations and has trained co workers to volunteer for the charity.

Her donation has been welcomed by Junior Achievement's Chief Executive Sue Cook who's thanked Barclay's for its support and Bal Jandu for her passion and dedication to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
