The 'Manxman' is being built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard
The Steam Packet has selected an engine for the new vessel 'Manxman'.
It's to be fitted with two eight-cylinder and two ten-cylinder engines, from technology group Wärtsilä.
They're to be installed at the Hyndai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea, where the ferry is being built.
The engines have been descibed by the Guiness World Records as the 'world's most efficient four-stroke diesel engine'.
The new vessel is expected to commence service in Spring 2023.
