Trio's plans for Ramsey production base

Plans have been announced for a new distillery in the north of the Island.

Fynoderee Limited has unveiled blueprints for a site, including bottling facilities, on West Quay in Ramsey.

Fynoderee Distillery has been founded by local couple Paul and Tiffany Kerruish, with award-winning master distiller Gerard Macluskey, who previously worked for Tanqueray Gin and Masons Yorkshire Gin.

Producition is due to start this autumm, with the initial offer of a Manx Dry Gin. Longer-term, the trio aim to work with other artisan distillers in the Island to produce 'unusual and innovative spirits'.

Once the distillery is up and running, it will be open for visits, tours and talks.

A range of spirits are already crafted by Manx distilleries, including vodka, gin, and whisky.

Douglas-based Seven Kingdom joined the industry last month with the opening of a new bar in the capital.
