Emma joins board at Age Concern

Emma Walker has joined the board of trustees of Age Concern Isle of Man.

Mrs Walker is the head of human resources at AXA Isle of Man. She is also a member of the steering group for the intergenerational Tell Me Project, a core partner together with Age Concern Isle of Man.

The charity’s chief executive Penny Creighton said: ‘I am truly delighted that Emma has accepted our invitation to join the board. We have worked closely together on the Tell Me Project since its inception and her enthusiasm, commitment and inspiration have contributed hugely to the project’s success.

‘I am thrilled that Emma will now be bringing those same qualities to the board at such an exciting time in our development, especially as 2010 is the year in which Age Concern Isle of Man is celebrating its 18th anniversary.’

Mrs Walker said: ‘Having been associated for more than three years with the Tell Me Project, of which AXA Isle of Man is a co-sponsor, and witnessed the truly tremendous and inspirational work being done by Age Concern Isle of Man, it is an honour to have been invited to join the board of trustees.

‘Age Concern Isle of Man works tirelessly to create an age-friendly society where every older person counts and I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to be associated with such a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.’
