Increase in maximum sums claimable
Tynwald looks set to increase the amount of money people can claim in employment tribunals.
The maximum claimable sum for unfair dismissal will rise from £480 per week to £540 – most redundancy payments are also based on this amount.
In a separate item, the maximum amount that can be awarded in compensation for unfair dismissal cases or sex discrimination will also rise, from £50,000 to £56,000.
The court will vote on both orders when it sits a week on Tuesday.
