Equiom seminar this month

Several speakers at annual event

Equiom Solutions, the tax division of Equiom Group, will be hosting its annual seminar on 22 January.

The event will take place at the Palace Hotel from 8:30 to 11:30am and individuals and advisors from the Island’s business community will hear presentations from the team on recent tax changes following the 2018 Isle of Man and UK budget announcements and their impact on Isle of Man residents.

The event will be opened by former Equiom Solutions Tax Director, Phillip Dearden.

The first speaker will be Helen Woods, Managing Director of Equiom Solutions, who will present on the topic of ‘protecting your wealth for future generations’. She will be followed by Roy Callow, Senior Tax Consultant, who will give a thorough insight into Isle of Man tax with an update on the key changes locally.

Derek McNutt, Senior Tax Consultant and Monica Dixie, Tax Director, will then explain how an Isle of Man resident becomes liable for UK taxes in the important topic of ‘How does an Isle of Man resident find themselves on HMRC’s radar’.

Finally, Glenn Cassidy, Senior Tax Consultant, will give a recap of the key changes to the taxation of UK property proposed by the UK Government, including capital gains tax changes, and their potential impact on local residents.

The seminar will conclude with a summary and Q&A session, along with closing remarks from Phillip Dearden.
