Board seeks feedback from commercial uses
Those in charge of the Southern Recycling Centre are considering extending the site's opening hours next year.
Commercial users of the facility have been asked for feedback on the proposal by the board which manages the site.
It comes after public opening times were pushed back to 10am in June, to allow large vehicles a 'window' from 8am to offload waste, before regular users are allowed to enter.
The board is now exploring options to keep the centre open later on certain days as compensation for the lost hours.
The reuse area remains closed due to structural problems with the building, whilst work is ongoing to open it 'as soon as practicably possible'.
