Firm offers online intel on Brexit

Michael Crowe

Resource aims to ease business anxiety

An Island accountancy firm has produced an online guide to help local firms understand the implications of Brexit.

Grant Thornton says the resource is a guide to 'the mechanics of the UK exiting the EU', with links to commentary and articles examining the impact of the referendum result on diverse areas of business.

www.grantthornton.co.uk/Brexit offers an overview of potential models for the UK's future relationship with the European Union, including Norway's European Economic Area deal, Swiss bilateral accords and free trade agreements.

The firm says a business planning tool on the site charts the potential economic, legal, political and regulatory implications of the Brexit vote over the first 100 days, the next two years and longer term.

Director at Grant Thornton Michael Crowe said the resource should prove useful for Island businesses anxious about Brexit, helping them better understand "what issues they need to be focusing on now to prepare for whatever the future holds."

There is currently no date for when the UK will invoke Article 50 to trigger the process of leaving the EU.
