Firm's recognition for local good causes

Award recipients - 2017 Recognition programme

Recognition awards fund range of projects

Island sports betting firm Celton Manx is to help 27 local good cases during 2017.

The firm supports low-profile charities and small-scale not-for-profit organisations which lack resources to promote and market their services.

This year's winning crop will be funded from Celton's Recognition corporate responsibility programme, and were chosen from 120 applicants.

Awards support a range of causes, including healthcare advice and information, youth and community groups and volunteer care providers.

Recipients include a cross section of Manx third sector groups, among them a community cinema, rural Girl Guide group, swimming club, Manx Wildlife Trust, Isle of Man Foodbank, Kenyon's Café, the WI Institute, Special Olympics and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Celton Manx executive director Bill Mummery said: ‘It is a scheme through which we have been privileged to have acquired a valuable insight into the sheer breadth and depth of charities in the Island working hard to transform people’s lives and of what matters to those whom they support.'

'We applaud how these organisations are turning challenges into opportunities and are pleased to be able to offer them heightened visibility. I am delighted that, since its inception, our Recognition programme has distributed more than £1million in the Island’s community.’
