The Financial Supervision Commission is warning about a fraudster who claims to be operating from Castletown.
Dr Charles Burnham of the badly-spelled "Coperate Finance" claims to be a director of the international issuance department based in Farrants Way.
He dangles the reward of hundreds of thousands of pounds in business deals, but says anybody interested has to pay a legal representative from his company.
He goes on to ask for copies of utility bills, driver's licences or passport, along with a scanned passport size photograph.
The FSC says there is no such company in Farrants Way, and the correspondence is part of an Advance Fee Fraud.
Although Dr Burnham supplies a telephone number, but so far he hasn’t answered Manx Radio's calls.
