Gas demands increase to 'very high levels'

Manx Gas says it wants to help those in hardship

Manx Gas customers who are facing hardship due to the recent spell of cold weather have been urged to get in touch.

The company says it is seeking to identify and explore ways to help people keep safe and warm.

It says it has seen gas load demands increase to ‘very high levels’ due to a combination of more people being at home and the weather conditions.

Chief executive Dave Cruddace says: “At a time when we are all spending more time at home - using energy to heat our homes, generate hot water and power our appliances and devices - Manx Gas stands by its continuing objective to help and support customers by working with them to make their homes more energy efficient and find the best way to budget for their own particular needs."

Anyone who needs help is asked to contact 644444.
