Ian Cook plans to take up PhD
Accountancy firm Greystone LLC has paid tribute to one of the company’s original founding partners, Ian Cook, who has retired.
Mr Cook, who also founded Greystone Corporate Services in 2001 with Bernard Galka, has seen the company expand to its current level of 20 staff, was described by partner Guy Wiltcher as, "the man whose vision brought us to where we are today."
Mr Cook began his working career as an engineer in the nuclear and aerospace sectors, and his continuing interest in engineering is his focus on retiring from Greystone.
He has decided to study for a PhD, attached to the University of Birmingham on the subject: "Quakers in the Iron Industry in the 18th Century".
His retirement was celebrated with friends and work colleagues at The Courthouse bar, immediately opposite the Greystone offices in Athol Street, Douglas.
