A Douglas company has been accredited to verify aircraft emissions and data for the European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme
ICM ETS, based on Prospect Hill in Douglas, audited an airline in Switzerland as an EU team watched and assessed the firm's procedures.
The company records the aircraft type and distance flown on each flight to produce an estimate of how much C02 has been created.
Director Chris Blake says the accreditation only applies to operators assigned to the United Kingdom but as other member states recognise it, ICM can verify operators in other countries.
