Island crowned top finance centre

IOM beats CI rivals to coveted award

The Isle of Man has made a clean sweep in one of the finance industry's best-known annual honours.

Judges at the International Investment Fund and Product Awards named the Island Best International Finance Centre - seeing off competition from rivals Jersey and Guernsey.

More than half of the other 18 gongs were scooped by Manx companies, amid a record number of entries.

MHK Martyn Perkins, who oversees Financial Services for the Department of Economic Development, called the wins 'encouraging' - adding that the sector 'underpins our thriving economy'.

The industry's next major gathering is at the Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards in January next year, where the Isle of Man is in the running for IFC of the Year.
