IoD launches new business awards

Search for Island's outstanding bosses

The Institute of Directors has launched a new awards scheme which aims to recognise the Island's best bosses.

The awards, sponsored by law firm Appleby, are open to IoD members and non-members from the public, private and third sectors.

Effective leadership will be saluted in four categories, and Island winners will go on to compete in the Institute's UK national awards next year.

The categories are SME (small or medium enterprise) Company Director of the Year; International Director of the Year; Young Director and Non-executive Director.

IoD branch chairman Clive Parrish said: "The aim is to raise awareness among the business community of the significant contribution business leaders can make to society and the economic prosperity of the Island."

Entries must be in by 5 February 2016 and judges, yet to be named, will announce the winners at the IoD's spring lunch on April 15 2016.

Mr Parrish said: "Leaders in the Isle of Man business community will gather on that date to celebrate excellence, innovation and best practice."
