A group of Isle of Man representatives is currently at a world summit on space in Paris.
Alex Downie, MLC (pictured), is the political member of the Manx Treasury with responsibility for ecommerce and space.
He says the trip is a fantastic opportunity to network and promote the Isle of Man (audio file attached):
The summit also proved an ideal opportunity to announce that the Strasbourg based International Space University will set up the International Institute of Space Commerce at the Island's International Business School.
The new think tank will focus on space commerce and regulation.
A five year deal will see the IISC hosted at the IBS, although only in a virtual way as initially its activities will be internet based.
Eventually, it’s hoped the centre will host industry events as well as academic and student exchanges.
