Jersey has stolen a march on the Isle of Man, by securing an Easyjet service to Liverpool.
The route, along with another between the Channel Island and Luton, will start in the Spring.
The firm says Jersey is a new market and predicts the routes will be attractive to business and leisure travellers alike.
Close to 200,000 passengers are expected to fly on the new services in the first 12 months of operation.
Some years ago Easyjet was approached with a view to operating out of Ronasldsway but, after negotiations, declined. One reason is thought to have involved the length of the runway
at the Manx airport.
