Kitchen with a difference pops up in the south

Hartford Homes teams up with local nursery

Hartford Homes has designed and built a new kitchen in the south of the Island with a difference.

Instead of going into one of the developer’s new properties the woodland kitchen has been tucked into the woods on the site of The Buchan School.

It means nursery pupils can now take advantage of the natural resources that surround them when cooking up their culinary creations.

Eva Boyd leads the Buchan Rangers programme which facilitaties outdoor learning. She says: "Play is such an important part of childhood and it is so beautiful to provide these children with the opportunity to play, form friendships, follow their own interests, find their confidence and take risks outdoors, whatever the weather. The benefits are huge, mentally and physically.

"We are all so very grateful and can't thank Hartford Homes enough."

Site manager Chris Corkill said the team had been ‘delighted’ to help adding they know how vital it is for children to have exciting, inspiring environments to allow their imaginations to run wild.
