A Douglas-based company has made a bid of more than £200 million for an engineering group specialising in the oil, gas and energy sector.
Lamprell Plc, based at Fort Anne, offered about 1.8 billion Norwegian kroner for Maritime Industrial Services Co, based in the United Arab Emirates.
Lamprell is an oil and gas rig builder which operates in the Middle East, and has built an order book of almost £600 million following a global boom in demand for new rigs.
