Beach clean funds to stay on-Island
Marks & Spencer says all the money raised by charging for carrier bags in its Isle of Man store will now stay on the Island.
The central Douglas store raises around £20,000 each year, which was paid into a central fund supporting charities across Britain.
But from this month, the cash raised locally will stay here – and the first Manx organisation to benefit will be Beach Buddies.
The group of local beach cleaning volunteers will get £5,000 to provide litter bins at beauty spots and walking routes.
