
A Manx company is to buy a controlling stake in what’s probably Britain’s most famous haulier.
The Stobart Group is selling 51 per cent of its trucking business to Douglas-based investment firm DBAY in a deal worth around £280 million.
DBAY will pay £195.6 million in cash for Eddie Stobart Logistics and take on £41million of debt
The sale means the new Manx owner can use the iconic Eddie Stobart brand free for four years, before negotiating a licensing deal.
