Moffatt applauds Human Rights work

The Secretary of the Isle of Man Government Officers’ Association, has said the efforts of civil servants in particular, to audit, research and prepare the Island for the introduction of the Human Rights Act, has in part contributed to the lack of cases so far presented

Angela Moffatt was speaking to the Joint Women’s Council.

She acknowledged the work done by public servants across the Isle of Man Government in order to ensure the Isle of Man Government was compliant with Human Rights legislation.

She said that the political efforts to bring the island into the 21st century in this area, had been achieved in the main by the supporting work of public servants, and in particular civil servants, to review our current processes and legislation.
That ensured the island was in a position to meet the challenges that new Human Rights legislation may present.
