Mountaineers' effort pays off at Hospice

Swagelok climbers 'delighted' with new equipment

A team of engineers who conquered mountains for Island charities have seen the fruits of their labour.

Twelve staff from Swagelok Limited last year took part in the British 3 Peaks Challenge - scaling Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in just 24 hours.

It was all done in aid of SKILS IoM, which provides extra education for young people with special needs; and the Eva Rose Garden at Hospice Isle of Man.

The team were 'delighted' when they visited the Garden recently, to find a new childrens' slide built from the proceeds of their climbs.

The play equipment was manufactured by local firm Macro Metal Services.

Team Captain Andy Quirk also thanked the Steam Packet and 4Hire for their donations.
