MT CEO new chair of Motiv8

Motiv8 CEO Thea Ozenturk & Chaiman Gary Lamb

Gary Lamb takes over from Christopher Mitchell

The charity Motiv8, which has been supporting those affected by addictive behaviours on the Isle of Man since 1978, has a new chairman.

Gary Lamb, who's also chief executive of Manx Telecom and chair of Strix Group plc, is replacing Christopher Mitchell who's retiring but will remain on the board.

The charity has described Mr Lamb as 'well-known and respected' and says his industry experience will be 'invaluable'.

Mr Lamb says when you see the damage addictive behaviours inflict on individuals, their friends and families, you realise how important it is to have a service like Motiv8.

The charity's aim is to minimise the harm associated with drug, alcohol and gambling/gaming problems - not just for those directly affected but for their families, friends and the whole community.

It offers free and confidential counselling to provide stepping stones to recovery through a range of therapies and support services.
