MT will continue to invest in IOM - CEO

Mobile revenues up 0.5% - fixed line stable

Manx Telecom will continue to re-invest in the Island.

That's the claim from Chief Executive Gary Lamb as the company released its figures to the end of 2016.

MT reported a profit of £8.8 million with revenues up 1.5% to £80.8 million.

Mobile revenues were up 0.5% with fixed line, broadband and data revenues broadly stable at £31.6 million, although data centre revenues fell after the departure of several client firms from the Island.

Last October MT looked to shed up 40 positions with voluntary redundancy packages, as it carried out what it referred to as a transformation programme.

Whilst not confirming how many employees decided to take the option to leave the company, Mr Lamb says the focus was on making the business more competitive.
