Onwards and upwards for Browne Craine director

Craig Mitchell to climb Mount Kilimanjaro

A director of Browne Craine & Co is taking on a major challenge for charity.

Craig Mitchell has signed himself up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this October for the Children's Centre.

The mountain is the highest in Africa with its summit being 5,895 metres above sea level.

However, it's not just going to be a physical challenge for Craig who says, "anyone who knows me will know this is taking me completely out of my comfort zone."

"I don’t like to camp out, I hate wearing grubby dirty clothes, I’m not overly keen on insects, I like a hot shower and a shave every day, I get grumpy when I don’t get enough sleep . . . and I have a phobia of bats! Some people think I’m nuts"

He goes on to say how much he admires the great work done by The Children's Centre.

"They work directly with over 1,000 children, young people and families each week running vital services across the Island. I’m not setting myself a goal as to how much I’d like to fundraise, but I’m paying for the adventure personally so whatever I raise the charity will get every penny."
