Two awards in China for Isle of Man Post

An Isle of Man Post stamp issue marking the birth of the British postal system has been recognised at an international awards event in China.

The company's special Penny Black issue scooped two accolades at the China Annual Best Foreign Stamp Poll earlier this month.

The set was the winner in the best stamp topic category and runner-up in the best stamp design section.

The winning set celebrated the 175th anniversary of the Penny Black, the world's first adhesive stamp, and the birth of Edward Stanley Gibbons, founder of the rare stamp merchant.

Beijing provided the venue for the awards presentation ceremony.
