Pokerstars abandons Club Atlantic City deal

Manx-based PokerStars says it’s giving up attempts to buy a casino in New Jersey after problems with the deal.

It wanted to buy the Atlantic Club in Atlantic City but has since signed a deal with the Resorts Casino Hotel.

After losing two court rulings, Pokerstars parent company the Rational Group has dropped its application for a casino license to acquire the Atlantic Club – the firm lost $11 million in the aborted deal.

The world’s largest poker site has now applied for a casino service industry license with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to team up with its new partner.
