Launches New Jersey poker site
PokerStars is officially back in the United States, after launching for-money online service in New Jersey.
The company, based in Onchan, had been effectively kept out of America by the Department of Justice after it launched its Black Friday crackdown on the online poker industry back in 2011.
But almost exactly five years later, it’s returned as a licensed business – although it can only accept players from New Jersey.
The company has announced a range of online tournaments it’ll be offering to players in the coming months.
