Maintaining confidence in the Isle of Man, both locally and to the wider world, is vital in the next few years.
That’s the belief of the minister for economic development, who says politicians should not be distracted by any point-scoring or rhetoric in the build-up to next year’s general election.
Allan Bell says the whole Island needs to look at the bigger picture, particularly after the United Kingdom government announced unprecedented cuts in welfare spending, which could see the loss of 490,000 jobs in the public sector:
