The Department of Economic Development is asking for views as it considers allowing the Post Office to broaden its business through technology.
A consultation on the duties of the company has been released to consider changing decades-old legislation controlling its functions.
A proposed new law would allow the Post Office to move into digital communication and data management as well as other similar services and products.
