Organisers of a campaign to find corporate sponsorship for a new Hyperbaric Chamber in the Island say they have reached all Island businesses, thanks to a joint venture with the Post Office.

Two and half thousand leaflets outlining the adventure, have been delivered by using the company's Door to Door service.

The friends of the Hyperbaric Chamber charity want to raise £500,000 to build a new, larger facility at Noble's Hospital, able to treat twice the number of patients as at present.

Free distribution was agreed by the Post Office sponsorship committee and the local branch of the Communication Workers Union, CWU.

Debbie Barron of the Hyperbaric Chamber said: “The Hyperbaric Medical Facility is extremely appreciative of the Isle of Man Post Office and its postal workers for their generous offer and service to deliver its 2,500 A5 Door to Door leaflets."

She added: “This is once again a marvelous example of how the Isle of Man community comes together and helps those in need and we are currently in need.”
