Post Office kids to bear Baton

Youngsters getting involved in relay

Children of Isle of Man Post Office staff will be the bearers for the Queen's Baton three day visit here.

On 1 September, it will be officially welcomed by the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association, its president, and guests, at Ronaldsway Airport.

The relic is traveling across Her Majesty's Commonwealth nations ahead of the games on Australia's Gold Coast in 2018.

When it arrives, a Southern Post Office representative will transport the baton to Postal Headquarters, before it takes a tour of the Island.

The service has a 60 year history championing athletes taking part.

Those children involved are writing postcards to the hosts to wish them well ahead of the games, in support of Team Isle of Man.
