Postal deadlines for Christmas fast approaching

 

Manx residents are being reminded the last posting dates for sending gifts to friends and family abroad are fast approaching.

Air mail bound for Asia, the far east and New Zealand should be sent by Wednesday 3 December to arrive in time for Christmas.

For Australia the deadline's Thursday (4 Dec) while mail to south and central America, the Caribbean, Africa and the middle east should be posted by Friday 5 December.

The last posting date for letter and packets to the UK is December 20, while parcels must be in the system by 22 December.

Customers can use Postal Headquarters at Cooil Road in Braddan from 7am - 7.30pm weekdays year round, but the postal counter will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve.

Around the Island, post offices will be open as normal in the lead to Christmas, although offices will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and at 4pm on New Years' Eve.

Pensions and allowances payable during Christmas week 22 December 22 - January 1, can be cashed one week in advance.
