Counter donated to Friends of the Gaiety Theatre
RBS International says it'll continue to invest in modernising its banking facilities in Douglas this year - including the refurbishvment of its iconic Athol Street bank.
The historic ornate banking counter has been donated to the Friends of the Gaiety Theatre - who intend to incorporate it into their refurbishment plans.
The Regent Street branch is also being modernised.
The bank has made moves to house both NatWest and Isle of Man Bank branches in the same building, but they will continue to operate separately.
Building works are expected to be completed by March this year - the interior design will feature local photography, and Manx Tartan motifs.
The layout will be more open - removing barriers between staff and customers, with the installation of a disabled access ramp.
New technological features include cash deposit machines, a business bag drop, and a Coin IN machine to expedite the customer experience.
