Search engine specialist set for CIM talk

A leading authority on online marketing, and a specialist in search engine optimism (SEO) techniques, is set to visit the Isle of Man in October to present a special lecture to the Island's business leaders.

A Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing, Jan Klin will give the 90-minute seminar entitled Online Marketing 2010 on Thursday, October 7 at The Claremont Hotel, Loch Promenade, Douglas.

It's been organised by the Isle of Man branch of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The seminar will cover SEO best practice, new 2010 ranking factors for Google, pay-per-click advertising, SEO link building strategies, social media marketing, YouTube and video optimisation, digital assets optimisation and harnessing Google universal search to rank all your important digital assets.

The Institute’s local chair Cathy Cowin says, "Online marketing continues to grow in importance and diversity with new ranking factors from Google, new methods of engagement through social media and even new phrases in our lexicon like DAO (digital assets optimisation) to get to grips with.

"The seminar will be comprehensive and fast-moving so we'll provide marketers with a copy of the slides, complete with links through to important tools and resources."

Prices to attend this event, which include lunch, are free for CIM members and £25 for non-members.

Registration is from 12pm, with the seminar beginning at 12.30pm and finishing at 2pm.
