Seminars on Northern Powerhouse

Island working to develop links with North West

Representatives from the Isle of Man will be meeting with business leaders in Manchester this week for a series of seminars on the continued development of the Northern Powerhouse.

The events are co-hosted by the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development, Hill Dickinson, Callin Wild, Capital International Group and First Names Group.

Paul Maddocks, UK Regional Manager at the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development, says the Island's proposition for businesses and entrepreneurs works hand in hand with the developments taking place in the North West to drive growth in the region but also benefit the Isle of Man.

He says the Isle of Man has very close ties with the North West and the Island will be promoted as a key partner for international financial services, supporting sectors such as Real Estate, IT, Intellectual Property, Biomed and Import and Export businesses from outside the EU.

In 2016 the Isle of Man has launched a number of new initiatives to support business growth, including the £50 million Enterprise Development Scheme which provides loan and equity support to businesses expanding as long as there is a substantive link to the Isle of Man.
