Shopping restrictons already relaxed
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says UK plans to relax Sunday shopping laws won’t affect the Isle of Man.
It’s thought Chancellor George Osborne will announce the moves in this week's budget – handing local authorities powers to allow stores bigger than 3,000 square feet to open 24 hours.
But Mr Skelly said it’s something the Isle of Man won’t be following because we don’t have any such restrictions.
He says at present shops of the Island can open for as long as they wish on Sundays.
