The rate currently stands at 2.4 per cent, down 0.1 per cent on the previous month.
According to the May statistics, a total of 1,072 people are without jobs, 752 men and 320 women.
Among all sectors of the economy, retail and sales has the highest number of people seeking work, followed by hotel, bar and catering.
Latest figures from the Treasury show a net drop of 36 people on the unemployment register in May compared to April, with all those finding work, male.
