SPC unveils 2018 marketing campaign

Photoshoot for Steam Packet Company's 2018 promotional campaign

Major promotion in Guardian agreed

The Steam Packet Company has formed a partnership with a UK broadsheet newspaper, which it says will 'heavily promote' the Island as a visitor destination in early 2018.

The deal will see a series of travel features appear in the Guardian, in print and online, penned by specially-commissioned travel writers who'll visit the Island to research their articles.

The Guardian's online content is said to reach 155 million unique browsers worldwide each month, 25 million in the UK.

The tie-up is a key element of the Steam Packet's 2018 marketing campaign across UK media outlets - including national and regional newspapers, specialist magazines and websites.

A publicity photoshoot has been underway at Manx beauty spots and visitor attractions, depicting a wide age range in diverse locations. They will appear in publications including Cycling World and the National Trust Magazine.

SPC Marketing and Online Manager Renee Caley said: "Every year we invest in excess of £500,000 promoting the Isle of Man as a holiday destination in the UK and Ireland, and the ferry as they best way to travel.

A considered strategy is created which targets the right mix of media including print and online, to showcase what the Isle of Man has to offer visitors."
