Fox Corporation acquires 5% of Isle of Man-based firm
Isle of Man-based e-gaming company the Stars Group has announced the launch of a "first-of-its-kind national media and sports wagering partnership in the United States."
Teaming up with Fox Sports, the company has started Fox Bet, providing the US with a sportsbook like we see in the UK, facilitating real-money betting on "a wide range of sporting events."
The Stars Group says it has entered a long-term commercial agreement of up to 25 years.
Fox Bet is one of two business products it aims to 'go live' this autumn, and the company says it will "revolutionise how fans experience the thrill of sports".
The other project is a free-to-play game across the whole of America, which will allow punters to predict the outcome of sports games to try and win cash prizes.
The deal also sees Fox Corporation acquire just under five per cent of the total shares in the Stars Group, which is based on King Edward Road overlooking Douglas bay.
