Steam Packet announce day excursions for residents wishing to pay respects to Queen

There are other options available for those wishing to visit Westminster Hall

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has announced a series of new arrangements to allow residents wishing to pay their respects to Her Majesty, the Queen, Our Lord of Mann.

The Queen’s state funeral is set to take place at Westminster Abbey on 19 September.

Prior to the funeral, the Queen will lie in state in Westminster Hall from 14 September for five days.

During this period the hall will be open for 24-hours-a-day for members of the public to file past and pay their respects.

The Steam Packet is looking to arrange ferry and coach day excursions of which will enable Manx residents to attend either event.

Update: The Steam Packet Company has since 'reluctantly' gone back on its decision to provide excursions to attend Her Majesty, the Queen's lying-in-state or state funeral.
