Steam Packet backs promising road racer

Manx rider receives support from ferry operator

One of road racing’s most exciting young prospects is the latest local sportsman to be selected as an Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Champion.

Nathan Harrison, who this year became the youngest rider to complete a Junior and Senior Manx Grand Prix double, joins fellow road racer Conor Cummins, pro golfer Tom Gandy and cyclist Tom Mazonne in receiving backing.

The 21-year-old Manxman, who hails from Onchan, will have his travel requirements backed throughout the road racing calendar as he aims to compete in major events both on the Island and further afield.

Among Nathan’s plans for 2020 are to ride in the North West 200, the TT and Classic TT, the Ulster Grand Prix and the Southern 100.

Nathan, who comes from a family of racers, has already been on the Steam Packet’s Supported Sports scheme for a number of years.
