Steam Packet retains Classic TT and MGP bookings

Most passengers move bookings to 2022

The Steam Packet says it’s retained thousands of bookings from passengers due to travel to the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix.

The company offered people due to attend the option to cancel, transfer of keep their tickets when this year's event was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Whilst the majority, around 2,300 bookings, have been transferred to equivalent sailings for 2022 a number have retained their travel dates for August and September.

Chief executive Mark Woodward said: "Naturally it was disappointing when it was announced that this year’s Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix would not take place although we fully understand the difficulties in organising events this year.

"However it is encouraging that the majority of our passengers have seamlessly transferred to the equivalent sailings for 2022.

"I am also aware a number of travellers have retained their 2021 bookings, perhaps in the hope that travel restrictions will be relaxed, which also shows just how much people are looking forward to visiting the Isle of Man once more."
