Standard Bank enjoyed success at the International Investment Magazine's International Fund and Product Awards 2009, winning 'Best International Bank' and taking away a 'Highly Commended' in the Structured Product category.
Managing Director John Coyle, said: "We are extremely proud to have won the ‘Best International Bank’ award, given the calibre of the other shortlisted entrants. This is a reflection of our excellent product portfolio and the expertise of our people who continue to deliver outstanding service. The Highly Commended in the International Structured Products category is also particularly pleasing because we have worked hard to provide products that are appealing to our diverse customer base."
The awards attracted a large number of quality entries, despite a difficult year for the financial sector globally. The judges said they were impressed by the depth and quality of the entries in 2009, with over 30 different companies shortlisted in the 13 different categories.
Standard Bank’s Director of Intermediary Distribution, David Wilkinson, who collected the award said: "I was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the Standard Bank team. The award is a very credible endorsement of the high standards we strive for within our business."
